Cute little chipmunk, right...?? Think again!!!
Here's the story; My boyfriend at the time and I decided to take a road trip up the Pacific Coast Highway in 2005. We did Los Angeles to San Francisco in January and San Francisco to Seattle in August. Along the way we stopped at Mt St. Helen's. There are a lot of scenic areas to park and take pictures. I stopped at one of those spots and was taking pictures when I noticed this little fellow running around. I got out some trailmix and crouched down to offer him some. I took a few pictures and he actually came up and ate a peanut out of my hand!! Then a car drove up and parked next to me. A woman came screaming out of her car, "Don't touch those little bastards! They'll give you the bubonic plague! I read it on the internet!!!"
Needless to say this caught me very off guard and I think I mumbled some apology, got back into the car and drove away. When I saw another chipmunk run across the road a few miles later I said "OMG, there goes another little bastard!"
We saw quite a few of the Little Bastards that day... but none quite as friendly as this Little Bastard!
Thank God I didn't get the bubonic plague!!!

LOL. I would have never known that until you wrote about it! I don't think we have chipmunks in Louisiana. We do have a ton of squirrels though!
I had to check "boring" because it would have been much more interesting if you had gotten Bubonic Plague! LOL
