Random Question Wednesday

Complete the sentence: Something interesting I have learned about life is _____________.

Several things come to mind;

First: There is a consequence for every action. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it won't come back to us for years. Sometime it is so subtle that we don't even notice it. I believe in Karma: From Wikipedia: "Through the law of karma, the effects of all deeds actively create past, present, and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to him/her and others." This also fits into Christian beliefs that what we do in this life will affect us in the afterlife, but also how it shapes our character now and in the years to come. I think people believe that if the result of an action isn't immediate then they "got away with it". I don't believe that. There isn't anything we get away with. Also, how we act when no one is around is important too. Some may think that those actions have no consequences, they do, in one way or another.

Second: I think it's interesting how similar we all are. We all have the same basic wants and needs in life; food, comfortable place to sleep, someone that loves us and we all like to feel that we are important, to name just a few. But we all have this need to be different from everyone else too, and that is something that is the same with everyone else too.... Hhhhmmm, interesting!

Third: Life is about change. Nothing stays the same. Sometimes a difficult lesson to learn because we all want the good times to stay that way forever. Some even think that a 'good' life without any change is attainable in this life... I don't.

THAT's partly why I was SO overwhelmed watching an inauguration yesterday....for the first time in my life I saw people of EVERY race, economic group, faith, whatever together in ONE feeling....THAT is something THIS country has needed badly. YES.... our common humanity needs to be celebrated worldwide.... nice writing, Jim.

So true. There is always change, sometimes it's immediate and sometimes it's subtle. And I also agree, it is about what we are needing to grow. Might be karma, or just plain stupidity that gets us where we are!
