Last night I was reading the next section in the book, "The Way of the Small". This section talks about seizing those small moments. "The more we penetrate and flow with what is, the more present we are to seize the moment- particularly, small moments. The art lies as much as in the recognition of the moment as in the seizing of it." The author then talks about when we sometimes miss that moment.
I've noticed that when I practice these principles I miss less of those special moments, this makes life more enjoyable for me.
I often think how life could have been if another choice had been made at some point or another in our lives. There are countless such moments when our lives could have taken a completely different direction. Or one might say their life took this direction because a moment was missed. I know some sci-fi writers have pondered this too and have written many a "what if this happened instead" stories.
This also brings up another thought I have, do you think things happen for a reason? I know a lot of people believe that. I don't. Sometimes a moment happens for a reason, but mostly I believe life is just random. It's up to us to seize a moment or let something pass us by and then make the best of it.
Hhhhmmmm... deep thoughts.
On to something lighter. I saw this video on another blog and thought it was interesting and imaginative. It reminds me of being in New Zealand watching the sheep trails. Enjoy your day:
And people accuse me of having too much time on my hands!! lol
