My flock

To try to relieve the stress of studying so much I started walking in the evenings, just short walks around the neighborhood. My neighbor David told me that the building behind our condos has recently been remodeled and updated and they have finished most of their landscaping. I walked up there the other night to see how things looked.

Beautiful! They've really done some nice improvements to a beautiful building. The residents on the top floors that face the northeast have fantastic views of the Dallas skyline. The pool area is beautiful and there is even a small pond.

A flock of geese have made this pond their home. These geese displayed typical geese-type behavior. They were defending their territory from the predator walking through "their" area! How dare I do such a thing?

They hissed and honked, puffed out their chests and flapped their wings a lot. But they did let me take their picture! Maybe there is hope that I can win them over somehow....

Last night I put some grain type snack crackers in a bag and went for another walk. I was met with the same honking and hissing as they rushed towards me again. Then they noticed I had something. I broke the trisketey thingies up and tossed them on the ground in front of them. What? No more honking and hissing? Well, the biggest one of them still did, after he came up and took some food out of my hand.

Yes, I think I can get them to like me. Maybe!
