I am a follower! Probably because I am the 4th child, I was always following and tagging along. Plus I am very easy going and don't have a set agenda. I really don't have to do anything.
I have owned my own business and was fine with making all my own decisions but it wasn't a power trip for me or anything, just something that had to be done... and I did it!
Since then I have worked in "Corporate America" with all the variations of 'The Boss'. I take direction well; I work and play well with others. (Kind of sounds like my report card comments from grade school) :-)
Except when there is indecision. The only time I am ever a leader is when there is no clear leadership; as in a group of friends trying to decide where to go to lunch or dinner. I would rather make a decision, do it and live with the consequences, rather than just waiting for someone to make a move.
Now on to dancing, I'm bi-directional. I can lead or follow.
I took ballroom dancing when I was at BYU. I had never had any classes just the basics I learned from mom. I got on the performing team and then took several classes.

When I moved to Oklahomo City after I came out I went to the country bar. I realized the two-step in just a slight variation of the Foxtrot. But, I wanted to learn to follow. It was difficult to give up some of the power of leading and being in control, but I had some good men who were a strong lead and I was soon being twirled around the dance floor. It's was nice to let go and be led, the thing people forget about doing any dance; the important thing is the rhythm not the steps.
I like to lead while dancing only because most guys aren't a strong lead. I am a strong lead and really enjoy it when someone knows how to follow.
How about that for contradictions?

Well, I'm ready to follow. When do we start?
I like the "bi-directional" comment, though i don't think I'm 'bi' anything.
I like to follow, but people think I should be in charge.
I like to lead, but sometimes I want to see what someone else has to offer.
Oh no.......I'm bi.
I was a follower when I was younger. Now I like to lead.
I am a very flexible person but when I dance I lead. Only because I was trained to do so. Alas, my boyfriend 'does not follow' so there is no more dancing.
Oklahomo City! That cracks me up!
