I remember getting the keys after closing and coming "home" to finally be able to get a good look at "my place" (well, the bank's place too, but that's a fact of life). There was a lot of work to do before I could move in. Every wall needed a new coat of paint. The carpet that appeared to be in good shape was not. And the carpet in the bathrooms and the bay windows would have to go. I decided that since I wanted tile in the kitchen and bathrooms I would also put tile in the bay windows, making it a perfect place for plants!
Here are some before pictures:

Even though there was a lot of work to be done I love the place; great layout, solid foundation and good location were all enough to make all the hard work to come worth it.

So cute! Replacing the carpet; great idea!
You are a fortunate man to love where you live.
Are you going to share some "after" pictures? :)
word verif: roper. Wasn't he the creepy landlord in 3's Company? It must me a sign that you were meant to own.
The "after" pictures will be coming in August.
