300th post and Gay Pride in Dallas

It didn't seem that long ago that I reached my 200th post.... And here I am at 300 now!

Thanks everyone for stopping by my little corner of the world wide web!

I know there are some people out there saying "What? a pride parade in September? WTF?" I know... I said that too when I first moved here.

Then a native son told me that the organizers thought that June was too hot for parades and parties in the park. There are also Pride Celebrations in every major city in the US during June and there are usually only 4 weekends. They thought that people would rather fly to San Fran, Chicago or New York for the pride festivities rather than staying in the sweltering heat of the Big D. Houston has a night parade and an evening/all night party to avoid their temperature issues.

So today, I will be going to some friend's home in the gayborhood for a few 'warm up' drinks, then we're off to the parade and the ensuing party in Lee Park.

I'm taking Monday off from work! Nothing will dampen my day! (like the dread that hits us Sunday evening of going back to work)

I'll be taking lots of pictures, gay Dallasites showing their pride, and if it will be 88 degrees and sunny, a few will be showing off more than their pride!! Woohoo. Maybe I will too.
