A while ago my sister (her mom) told me that she writes short stories and is very creative. She also loves to read, we were both reading The Odyssey by Homer this summer.
But, she refuses to write a story about me or even with me as a character! So I told her I would write one about her. Here is the result. LOL.
Chapter One - Stupid Cat
"It was a dark and dreary night...." said Maddie. "Wait, that sounds stupid! All those stupid old books start out like that", said Brooke. "I know", said Maddie "but it is a dark and dreary night. Or, it will be. This day is not going well and the night doesn't look like its going to get any better." sighed Maddie.
The two friends were standing outside of the church. They had been running around playing, just hanging out like two BFF's should. They had been running, playing tag, laughing, talking and being typical tweens. When was it that they finally figured it out that not that many people were around anymore? They really couldn't say they just kind of realized it. And now here they were, standing all alone under the street light of the empty church parking lot. They kept on talking and chattering away, trying to avoid worrying about what they were going to do.
"I'm writing a book" said Maddie. "About me?" replied Brooke. "No, it’s a fun and interesting book!" Maddie said. "I'm fun and interesting!" giggled Brooke. Maddie rolled her eyes and said, "My Uncle Jim says that all the time too. He wants me to write a book about him but he's OLD and not any fun at all." "Oh" said Brooke "is he the one you were texting earlier? Old people don't text! They barely can use a cell phone. Remember your mom today? Her cell phone battery was dead and she couldn't figure out why your dad wasn't calling. Um, Maddie... where is your mom or your dad?"
Maddie looked down at her shoes. They were old and a little scuffed and there was a lump in her throat. "I don't know." she said. She had to blink a lot; her eyes were starting to burn because she could feel the tears start to come. "I thought they were just talking to people after church like they always do." The thought came to her... "Did they REALLY forget about me and leave without me? Where are they?" So, to get her mind off it she said "Yea, my stupid Uncle Jim keeps bugging me to write a book about him. He's such a Gay Wad! He tells these embarrassing stories about me, when I was little. He's so stupid!"
Brooke giggled, "I know" she said. "You're brother said your uncle told him how you used to get really mad and when you swear you would say 'Stupid Cat'!" Brooke started laughing. Maddie thought of her brother and all the mean things he had done to her and how she plotted her revenge. She would get him back! She had been planning and revising her plans of sweet revenge. But those plans could wait for later; she had to figure out what to do. How would they get home? Maddie just mumbled, "He's the Stupid Cat!"
Just then they saw headlights, someone was driving into the church parking lot! They both started jumping up and down, screaming and waving their arms. They ran into the middle of the road and were screaming with relief and joy, Maddie's mom was there!
On the way home Maddie thought... this is a dark and dreary night. Her brother Jaeger had to be at some stupid game, so Mom had rushed to take him home and thought Maddie was with her dad. Dad had rushed home to eat; assured that her mom would surely remember to take all the kids home. So, it was Jaeger's fault! The planning and scheming began again. "I'll write about it, put all the details in a murder mystery. No one will ever know that it’s the plans of how I'll get back at him!" she thought and she made a wicked little laugh that made Brooke look at her funny. "Maddie, you're my bff, but you are kinda weird sometimes."

Great story, Jim :-) I don't think you are THAT much of a gay wad.
