Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

I like it because there is no hype around it. It's a day to gather with family or friends, enjoy a good meal and be thankful for all you have. I love the tradition that my family (and a lot of people have) of everyone at the table telling what they're most thankful for in their lives.
I love to cook so I don't mind spending time in the kitchen getting ready for the feast. And I like to see the different foods and traditions that others have.
And I love the food of Thanksgiving! Everything is a favorite of mine; the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauces, vegetables, rolls and especially pumpkin pie! YUM!
What is your favorite holiday and why?

I'd say Christmas and Halloween are my favorites. Christmas is great because I always get back home, all the family is there, the food is great (the gifts aren't bad either--ha).
I think I enjoy Halloween more now than when I was a kid. I love dressing up and going to gatherings. Very fun.
I like the more discrete holidays -- Valentin's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving....over, say, Christmas. The less commercialization, the better for me.
Christmas, because they have the prettiest trees. :-) :-)
Actually, I'm with you. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite. I love being with my family (including my in-laws!!) and having all that amazing food at the same time. I'm not a fan of holidays that you have to shop for in order to enjoy them.
labor day...cause it's usually my birthday!
I like 4th of July because of the fireworks.
Hey...I was surprised to read your saying this....I thot I was alone. I TOO love Thanksgiving the most since NO expectations of self serving gifts, etc. Everyone celebrates a coming together over wonderful comforting food...... I can't wait.
The top 4 happen in the year for me. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve. I just ignore the commerical crap and dance to my own drum!
I am partial to St Patricks day... for the green beer!
