Info on the new ink

If you remember back I had narrowed my next tattoo choices down to three things. Since a tattoo is permanent and I knew I had to love it for the rest of my life I did take my time on the decision.

I decided on the Rampant Lion. I finally found the picture I liked and decided to go with the link to my heritage and the symbol of courage. The symbolic meaning of lions in England is a common emblem of English sovereigns because of these lion-like traits:

* leadership
* strength
* royalty
* courage
* honor

The Rampant Lion is also featured on the Scottish Royal Banner and my family lineage does take me back to Malcolm III, King of Scotland from 1058 to 1093.

I'm going back in about a week for a 'touch up', I like how the artist did the shading and love the detail he put into it, but I missed one little detail when I was there. His paw that extends in front of him needs shading under to make it more distinguishable, right now it kind of looks like a stump. You can see what I mean by looking at the original picture below:
