The story behind the picture

Have you ever seen a picture you like and wonder what the story is behind it? What the photographer was doing; or thinking or feeling? I do.... I love photography and I used to take the camera out a lot more than I do now. Here is a favorite picture of mine:

I remember it was late spring and I was really enjoying the nice weather. I loved to grab my bike and go out riding in the evenings and on the weekends. As I was pedaling around the neighborhood in East Dallas where I was living at the time, I was in awe at all the flowers in bloom! I decided to head home and grab the camera. I got back into the neighborhood and would stop and try to get a good picture if something caught my eye. I got several great photographs that day! It was later when I was downloading them in the evening that I noticed this picture. I never realized that there was a little bug on one of the petals.

This is the picture I took; it hasn't been edited, enhanced or had the color adjusted! In my humble opinion, I think it is beautiful!

So there you go... the story behind the picture. I think I may do this more often with other favorite pictures of mine. What do y'all think?

Larry, this is a periwinkle, a very small flower actually! Thanks for all your comments.

I'll be making the "story behind the picture" a regular feature of the blog.

Very nice! Vinca vine (periwinkle) is an extremely vigorous ground cover that spreads very quickly.

As soon as I saw the periwinkle my heart just lightened up. It is a nice shot Jim. The lighting and composition are perfect.
