I was living in East Dallas in 2004 and my apartment was pretty close to a major road, I didn't like all the road noise, but it faced west. I loved it because I could watch the sky to see if it was going to be a nice sunset, then I would grab my camera and head outdoors or over to Whiterock Lake to get some pictures.
In late July we got a really bad storm, I think there were even tornado warnings in the area. The storm was very severe and the sky was filled with these angry boiling clouds. Towards evening I couldn't believe the sun broke and the sky filled with color from the light reflecting off of the clouds. As the sun was setting the clouds seemed to become gold. I have pictures of the progressing of the clouds turning these beautiful colors, capturing it all. This picture really caught the beauty of the clouds and sky that night.
This really is the colors of the sky, the colors have not been enhanced by any program. Seeing this pictures takes me right back there to that night, I was in awe by the beauty of the setting sun. This was no silver lining of the clouds... this was pure gold!
There ya go... the story behind the picture.
I hope you're enjoying these pictures and the stories as much as I am... this is a very fun little jog down memory lane for me.

I had two pics similar to this one. The first one I took it when riding to work. The second one was taken from my window :)
WOW! fantabulous colors!
Beautiful! One of the prettiest sunsets I've ever seen was in west Texas back in 1977? 78? My dad and step mom took all the kids (6 of us) to Colorado to climb a mountain that summer. We drove all the way from Gainesville, FL. It took about 6 months just to drive through Texas. We were almost through the state, and had stopped for supper at a roadside picnic area. We were treated to the most beautiful sunset while we ate our sandwiches!
