The story behind the picture #9

Beauty in the most unusual places

In 2004 my boyfriend at the time and I drove up the Pacific Coast Highway. The second leg of our journey was in August, we drove from San Francisco to Seattle. We spent the night in Coos Bay Oregon and the next day we drove into something that I had never heard about before, the Oregon sand dunes!

Larry wanted to stop, he had seen a sign that said you could rent a dunebuggy and drive around the dunes. "OK", I said, "we have no plans and no itinerary". We ended up getting a guided tour and it was very cool, very fun! When we were getting ready to get back in the car to continue the drive north I spotted this flower in the parking lot, since I already had my camera I snapped a few pictures. The lighting was perfect.

Who knew that there would be this beautiful flower in the middle of the sand dunes in Oregon? Just a little reminder to stop and admire the small things in life.

There ya go... the story behind the picture!
