Flakes

There are a few people in my life that this applies to! Why can't people just be themselves? Why do some people think that they have to put up this fake front? I won't group everyone together by the actions of just a few, but there are fake people out there.

I know I've written about the online persona that people have, but what I'm talking about is how people are in person. I understand people have walls up to protect them from hurt, but some people are just fake.

Maybe I'm judging, but I really do try to take into account the whole essence of a person. They may be just having a bad day or an off day. But these fakes are people I've known for a while and their fakeness is consistent.

Oh well... I guess I just need to tollerate them, let them be who they want to be. As long as I don't have to spend too much time with them.

What's really hard is when you learn this about people too late, after you've invested your trust and energy in building bonds with them.

Sorry you have people in your life like this, too. At least you seem to be able to spot them head on and avoid unnecessary entanglements. I know I've learned the hard way to spot them early and avid them.

Sigh....

I can spot a phony a mile away and will avoid them at all costs. not worth my time.

I agree with Anne Marie in Philly (BTW, are you really a woman or just some gay guy being cute?)
I too can spot a fake a mile away and I take a wide path around them. If they should corner me, I plow through them. I won't waste a second with them. I've already invested too much of my life in these people, the get no more of my time. I don't hate, they're just not there anymore.

we all put up personas
It is hoped we keep conscious the Persona is not the true Self.

What if being fake is the real them?

Um, did that make sense? It may be too early in the morning for me to comment on stuff...
