A new cycle of life

Life moves in cycles.

-There is a natural change of seasons.
-We all grow older and eventually everything thing seems dominated by a younger generation.
-Our moods also go in cycles. I don't think anyone can always be up and active all the time, we need some down time.
-There are times we are extremely happy and times when we are extremely sad.
-The attitudes of society and our social groups are always changing. Groups are all angry and show hate and then a tragedy hits and those same people realize that hate and our words do affect people and attitudes change. Compassion then becomes a little more important than being right.
-Each of us also go through cycles. I know I do. There are times when I find I'm bored with the things I've been doing and just want a change. Then somehow, years later we go back to what it was we loved doing before.

I know I'm going through a change, a new cycle of life. I'm getting bored being in front of a screen a lot of time. I'm finding that reading a book is more enjoyable to me now than spending countless hours on-line.

I found the snuggie and have been keeping warm on these cold winter nights.

Jim,
I try to balance my time between on line, reading, watching TV, genealogy research, taking and organizing my photos, dining with friends, walking, cooking, and gardening. This balance seems to work for me. When I find myself slipping into spending too much time on any one activity I tend to lose interest and become bored. Of course my routine takes occasional tweaking but this seems to work for me. Try experimenting and find what works for you. Notice nowhere in my activities is there a mention of going to a bar to cruise. That was deliberate. That activity, which used to dominate my life is in my past and I have zero interest in that activity (thank goodness). I always dreaded being one of those pitiful old gay guys who hungrily stalked the bars.

I've been feeling the same way... I wonder if it's just the time of the year.

I am a long-time book reader. I very much hope that book reading never goes out of style. it remains one of life's greatest pleasures, and I daresay it is good for our health. and cannot say that about being on the computer - the jury is out.
How is your snuggie holding up? I hear tell that they get threadbare rather quickly.

wonder what's under that snuggie...hmmmm...

I second ron - I balance my computer time with my book reading and knitting and (in season) baseball games. not everyone has the same formula for making it all work in synch.

You know, you can get the same warming effect if you just put your bathrobe on backwards. I see the Snuggie people saw YOU coming a mile away. LOL
