Blogger weirdness

I couldn't get into my dashboard at all yesterday afternoon and evening! At work this morning my last post wasn't there... and I know two people had made comments.

I had all kinds of things to say last night too, but couldn't get in. *mad face*

So with more time to think and less writing actually done, I thought about what blogging is... why do I do it? I know I have some faithful readers (Thank you, all of you who read and leave comments). But do I really have a target audience? I guess it would be gay men and friends. I don't always have something interesting to say, I don't make political statements or commentary. I try not to make this a step by step diary of my day. Am I really just writing just to write? Or is it an over inflated ego? Do I think I'm that special that people want to know my opinions?

Well... see what happens when I can't get online and check the blog; the comments or the stats or my blogger buddy's thoughts. My mind just runs amok!

Anyway... hope y'all have a great weekend.

What happens when you have a group of guys sitting around in a casual setting? One guys says something and some of the other guys comment. Then another guy will say something else. Just throw out a topic that happened to flash into his mind. The other guys will comment on it. Then another topic gets brought up, and so on.

Isn't blogging similar to that? Just a group of guys talking about everything/nothing and those who are interested may chime in. Isn't blogging the electronic equivalent of a home's living room? Or an office's water cooler? And isn't that what makes blogging so wonderful :-)

While I was flying over the Pacific, it seems Blogger had a TIA of sorts and everyone seems cross.
I am glad it and you are 'back in the saddle"

And count me in as one of your target audience.

Count me in as part of that target audience you mentioned!

Not having blogger for just a day nearly drove me crazy! I missed my virtual buds! Things seem to be getting back to normal now.

The internet has become as indispensable as a refrigerator or a telephone.

Jim, I love reading whatever you choose to post; it's always funny and / or thought-provoking. When you end with the question, "What do y'all think of _______?", I often have to stop and think hard, "What do I really think of that?"

We have a lot of similarities, not the least of which we're both gay and the same age, and a great many differences which makes reading your blog even more interesting.

I just show up for the photos of you in Rennie gear and kilts, but then, I'm just shallow and vacuous.

I like how Cubby put it. There is no need of a special agenda or topics. We are all in a home's living room.

Jim, you know I read a cross section of blogs. I read your blog because you don't have a set scope and it is easy to read. I feel relaxed when I leave. I could come over and you could be talking about anything. Just keep being you.
