It's not that I jump out of bed at 5AM, but once I'm awake I'm awake.
I am more productive in the morning than in the evening when I am tired from the day. I love the peace and quiet of the morning, especially when I'm out camping. I'm usually up with the sun and I love to lay in bed listening to the birds. Then I crawl out of the sleeping bag and into the world.
At home on the weekends I love sitting on my patio in the mornings sipping coffee. During the week I like it quiet for a while, then I'll turn on a morning news show. The morning news shows seem more upbeat and less depressing than an evening news program where they seem to just recap all the awful things that happened that day. I get to work ready to jump into the day.
By evening I'm ready to slow way down and relax before I crawl back into bed.
This is the time that the night owls are just revving up and ready to go out into the night. My oldest sister and my last ex were night owls. They were their most productive in the evening and at night. It seems a lot of the people in the bars are the night owls. Last Saturday at the Round Up I was tired and ready to leave at 11:30PM and some friends were begging me to stay out. I can't do it. I'm too old to close the bars down anymore, especially since I know I won't sleep as well when the sun comes up in just a few short hours.
What are you, an early bird like me or a night owl?

I'm exactly like you... up early in the morning and rarin' to go.
I'm all mixed up about this. I tend to stay up too late (usually on the computer) then I drag myself around the next day. Self-inflicted pain is what I think that's called. I used to be able to sleep in until noon but I find now that I can no longer sleep past 7 am with any sort of reliability. Hence, my lack of energy if I turned in at midnight or 1 am. I'm obviously a slow learner . . . I know what I need to do. :-)
I'm very much like you. I'm at my maximum energy when I get out of bed. It's all downhill from there.
My hubby Greg is the opposite. Some weekends I'm very tired and go to bed at 10am. He stays up until 3am. Sometimes I wake up when he comes to bed that late, and I lay there wide awake until 5am, then get up. The next night I'm still tired from waking up at 3am so I go to be early again. Suffice it to say that closing down a bar is not on my resume.
When I was studying I usually stayed up till very late or early the next morning to finish projects. I didn't mind. I was able to focus better in the quietness of the night.
Since then I'm becoming more of a person morning. I haven't tried what you mention when camping but it sounds lively
Early. Definitely Early.
Always been an early person. Never used an alarm clock in my life. Like to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic when I get the chance, then walk home, shower and get ready to walk to work.
Positive energy is strongest in the early hours of the day and I absorb is like a sponge.
morning person here (after I have had my "cawfee"). I do my best thinking in the morning.
my younger sister is a night owl.
my spouse is also a morning person.
Considering my "morning" is at 10am, I guess that makes me a night owl.
