Friday the 13th has usually been a lucky day for me.
Today started off good enough... I took the day off and with Monday a bank holiday this gives me a four day weekend! Woohoo!

Up until I get that call from the office.
UGH!
Well... on Tuesday I'm going to add an hour to my time sheet, if I was working I at least should get paid for it!
What is superstition anyway? Old wives tales, folklore, bizarre beliefs,
taboos, omens, lucky & unlucky things. And why the number 13? The building I work in doesn't have a 13th floor. Why is this a weird thing? I googled it and nothing made sense. Stuff from various religions and world cultures.
I guess it's just one of those things that can't be explained... just like a lot of things in life can't be explained. Or why co-workers suddenly have issues when I try to take a day off.
Who knows...??

This is why one never answers one's phone when one is on holiday. ;-)
friggatriskaidekaphobia (fear of Friday the 13th) is a gestalt of the old "13 is unlucky because of the last supper" superstition, and the Freemason legend that it was on a Friday the 13th that the Church ordered the extermination of the Knights Templar, leading to the day being seen as cursed (popularised again by The Da Vinci code).
It is more interesting to me that in other cultures the day changes, for example spanish speaking countires have a fear of Tuesday the 13th, but the 13th - as the symbol of a corrupted perfect form (that being 12) remains.
"You don't have to scratch deep to uncover the Archaic" says one of my teachers.
These old superstitions and tribal taboos are still quite imbedded in our psyches.
