I've been reading the book; The Forest Laird by Jack Whyte. It's a historical fiction about the life of William Wallace. This book is now one of my favorites. This stirs my blood and makes me proud to be a Celtic American with Scottish heritage!
I know Memorial Day is an American holiday, but why not honor those who have fought for freedom from our past too? The renaissance festival celebrates veterans today... every generation of civilization has fought for their country and their freedom.
Here is a picture I took (with the 360 app) at the end of the fair day. This is the front gates leading into another realm of knights, kings, nobles, shopkeepers and peasants. A medieval fair is historically accurate and I enjoy being a part of it. This is the closing weekend for Scarborough Faire!
I think it's fitting to honor all of those in our history who have fought to defend us and the freedoms we now enjoy.
My 1,000 posts too! I never knew I had this much to say.... Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog!
