It's not often that we can rememeber exactally what we were doing years ago... until a major event happens. Sometimes I can barely remember what I did last week.
I like that some groups and some people are making today one of giving back as well as a day of rememberance. I truely believe that the energy we give out in the world comes back to us and it's good to remember and learn from the past.
I have my opinions of how things have changed in the country since that day of infamy 11 years ago.
I thought I'd share my memories of the day.
It was a typical Tuesday... 2 weeks since I turned 40 and I was feeling good about life. Soon the news reports started coming in. One of my managers at work rolled a TV out into are working area so we could keep up on the unfolding events. No one could believe their eyes as we watched the South Tower and then the North Tower collapse, the plane hitting the Pentagon and all other flights cancelled. We started to wonder if Dallas would be a target since this was GW's home state as we heard that buildings all over the country were being evacuated. It wasn't until late in the day before all flights were cleared and we were assured that no more attacks would happen. Of course the news reports dominated our lives for weeks afterwards.
Where were you?

unemployed and closing out a safe deposit box at a local bank. got home and my MIL called; I had not been listening to the radio or the tv. so she filled me in and I turned on the tv.
I was asleep. I worked a third shift job at the time. The Husbear was watching the news and came in and woke me up. I was in a fog and thought he was watching some old footage of the previous bombing at the WTC. I came out of the fog on the replay.
I was at a piano lesson. The teacher got a call to turn on the TV. It was unreal for us both. I knew at that instant piano playing would be marred now by this association.
I was at work watching it on the internet. I thinig it may have been the first time I'd ever watched the interntet for news.
