Celtic weekend adventures

This weekend was the 2nd Annual Celtic Music Festival at Sherwood Forest Faire near Austin.

I packed up the tent and camping gear, my kilt and bike and headed to Austin area to meet up with friends. I was supposed to have gotten there earlier in the day so that I could go bike on an off-road trail nearby with my buddy from Houston... but I slept in a little too late. My buddy and his wife had several adult beverages by the time I showed up late... so we only biked around the campgrounds and the fairegrounds. By the time I got my tent set up and air mattress blown up I was ready for some cider also.

Saturday morning we dressed in the kilts and headed into the festival. I had a great time catching up with friends and making new ones. I had a costume change from renaissance garb to more modern. We listening to several musical groups: from bagpipes to traditional celtic music. My friend's daughter and I learned how to do some folk dances and had a great time! But the weather was very warm! I was sweating... a lot! I had a nice buzz going... I was in a happy place! :)

This morning was spent taking the campsite down and driving back to Dallas. I now have everything cleaned and laundry started.

What a great weekend! All of my favorite things: camping, biking, dancing, listening to great music and being with friends.

Life is good!

Your life is good, can't dispute that. And fun, too.

I'm sure it would have been a bit cooler for you and hotter for others if you had taken your shirt off. Also, I'm thinking you may one more "favorite" thing yo didn't list. ;)

Glad you had such a good time.
