Just when I got the other one to
She is having a difficult time wrapping her mind around the fact that a Pagan is claiming to be spiritual. She also questions my "ordination" that allows me to officiate at a marriage. She really can't see that "marriage" is really only a government contract, because if someone is married by a priest but it isn't registered by the state it isn't in force... but I digress.
It really makes me wonder why prople are like this... It makes no sense to me. A part of me wants to get in the über christian's face and go all "Chris Brown on Rihanna" on them... the other part of my brain stops me and makes me take the high road. My actions should show someone that I'm a good decent person, I shouldn't have to shout it at them.
Anyhoo... I found some old books that I don't want anymore and I offered them to her. These are 2 books in a series by Orson Scott Card called: The Women of Genesis. Historical fiction of Sarah, wife of Abraham and Rebekah the wife of some other Old Testament guy. Well... only historical fiction only if one believes that the christian bible is actually fact and not a work of fiction... but I digress.
She thanked me. Then offered me a religious pamphlet. WTF??
I fought that urge to go all "Ike on Tina" on her... But I politely explained that even though I read the bible from cover to cover, at least twice, I am not a christian!
I don't think this will ever end...

Orson Scott Card, although a good writer, is a sociopathic homophobe of the highest order. Do not read any more of the man's books.
Ack! You've RickRolled us!!
I wish those people would crawl back under their rock and stay there.
Why do you think I gave the books away?
Rebekah was Isaac's wife (Abraham's daughter-in-law)...and you have no idea how scary I think it is that I know that.
oh eventually she will give you up as damned and hopeless give it time.
