Bible Bash at high school football games update

Remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that small Texas town who's cheerleaders are making banners with scripture on them for the football games? Well, the judge postponed the decision. He said he needed a few more weeks to decide the legality of the cheerleaders rights of "free speech". They still get to keep their banners!

I wish that Kountz, TX was not a 5 hour drive away or I would be going to a high school football game with my own banner (or really large sign). I was thinking of this while driving to the Houston area this last weekend. What would I put on a poster?

I think I decided that I wouldn't be offensive... I would love to show my support for the one student (or students) that started this whole issue. I would want them to know that they're not alone... and that this is not right! Someone on the field, representing a high school, cannot be touting their religion! They could have signs in the stands or across the street... but not at a public school event! Those people have the right to not be bible bashed at a public school.

But... this little town is on the north east side of Houston and a 5 hour drive from my home. Plus... I would want someone with me with a video camera to tape the reaction of these "christians"... it is Texas after all!

What would you put on a poster?

I don't know what I'd write, I'm terrible at those things so I would just wear my kevlar vest and record you. Oh, I'd wear my steel tipped timberlands and not running shoes. I know we'd never make it out of there but those boots can do some damage.

I can think of a few:
"Jesus would be ashamed of modern Christianity."

"I don't believe the same thing you believe."

"If God gave us intelligence, wouldn't he want us to examine our beliefs with reason?"

And my favorite:
"Jesus wasn't a Christian."

I was reading about a case in a different Texas school district (not in the same jurisdiction) which basically forced a cheerleader to quit if she didn't wish to participate in cheering for a player she'd accused of sexually assaulting her. The precedent here is that cheerleaders in uniform are representing the school and, in this capacity, do not have the freedom to express their own opinions.

How's that for consistency?

As far as a sign, I'd choose something that represents my Pastafarian beliefs.
